Angel Strange will return to the stage in 2019.

Members

Jessa Shown

stage: frontman

Jessa is the founding member and primary songwriter for Angel Strange. She serves as both business and creative director for the band, handling everything from branding to song arrangement.

With a degree in Commercial Music, Jessa has worked as both a session vocalist and a signed solo artist. Angel Strange began as her passion project, an outlet for her love of artistic lyrics and dark aesthetics.

Nashville native. Sister to Caleb.

Jessa uses AKG and Telephunkin mics in the studio, and an SM58 on stage.

James Joseph

stage: bass

James' role in Angel Strange is perhaps best summarized as "Sound Designer". The engineer and primary cowriter, he helps create most of the tones, beats, and synths for the band. He also hosts the band's rehearsals and recording sessions in his personal studio.

An accomplished audiophile, James is constantly working in recording for film scores, independent bands, and his own projects. He even moonlights as a utility player, having taken every possible traditional role in a myriad of rock and metal bands- from drummer to lead singer.

James plays a Fender VI (modified 6 string bass).

Caleb Shown

stage: lead bass

Caleb brings intense motivation and overwhelming technical skills to the studio and the stage as lead bassist for Angel Strange. He helps to direct rehearsals, and has taken a growing role in songwriting for the band.

His career as a professional bassist began as a teenager, with the jazz band Lake Rise Place. The prolific trio was eventually recognized by the Tennessee state senator for their extensive work representing the charity VSA. Caleb also boasts experience in professional lighting and stage design.

Nashville Native. Brother to Jessa.

Caleb plays a 5-string Sammik Corsair.

Matthew Jones

Stage: drums

Jones, as he prefers to be called, is the newest member of Angel Strange's live band. He is a technical minded musician with broad taste in music, but metal comprises his main influence as a drummer.

Jones might develop distinguished taste in drums if his band members didn't stand on his kit every show.

Special thanks to:

Scott Gerow of Battery Lane Music - producer of self-titled EP and previous guitarist
